Finely Woven Light Blue Tribal Antique Turkish Kilim Rug, Country Of Origin: Turkey, Circa Date: Early 20th Century – This antique Turkish rug features a bold theme of hexagonal ornaments over a light blue field. Each shape in this antique rug embraces a jagged form within, forming alternately colored triangles that point inward like teeth in shark maws, nestling a white hourglass-like figure. The medallions are aligned in paired rows, each white-edged banner separated by bars with double-pointed arrows in a variety of vivid colors. A black background further sets the horizontal elements apart, and red markings in a tribal style offset the pale blue of each strip. Jagged edges along the left and right sides lead to a white border full of fanciful, geometric shapes exhibiting all the colors of the kilim rug in rotation.
