Large Antique Persian Kerman Rug 48905, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Persian Rugs, Circa Date: 1920 – By using relatively thin lines, the artist is able to convey a clear sense of grace and whimsy within this Kerman rug. These lines are wonderfully rendered in a variety of light colors, including blue, beige and brown. While such lines establish the foreground, the background of this Persian rug is defined by the presence of a much more vibrant gold hue. The two tones complement each other and create a relatively light display of contrast, ultimately accompanying each other well enough for the elements to appear clearly without taking away from the gold value of the backdrop of the antique rug itself.
