Finely Woven and Decorative Antique Shabby Chic Khorassan Rug, Country of Origion: Persia, Circa Date: Early 20th Century (1910’s) — This exceedingly shabby chic rug is an intricate Khorassan Rug sustained some fading over time, giving it a lovely “Shabby Chic” look. It displays a blue field covered with an intricate geometric and floral motif in indigo, black, red and brown colors. Many of the blossoms reveal dual shades. The border reverses the colors used on the field, to reflect blue, brown, white and indigo flowers and leaves set against a light indigo background. Broad guard borders present floral patterns in a scroll along either side. Antique Khorassan Persian carpets and rugs frequently present richly detailed motifs of animals and plants. Collectors prize the durability of these furnishing.
