Fine Antique Turkish Silk Kayseri Rug, Country Of Origin: Turkey, Circa Date: 1910 – Kayseri rugs are renowned for combining Turkish rug elements with more modern rug motifs, resulting in a unique stylization that draws the viewer’s attention to the details throughout. Stylized tribal rug designs of gols, branching flower boughs, and vases over brimming with blossom-laden stems nestle in staggered rows across the silk rug. En-wreathing each geometric figure, a pale latticework guides the pattern, its limits bounded by jagged fronds and dotted with small, red blooms. A set of three borders wends around the fine antique rug. The outermost two feature linked chains of white flowers, curling against a red background. These match, balancing against the wider golden and ivory band, crimson-touched and lush.
