Antique Persian Bibikabad Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1900– This antique Persian rug is filled with an elaborate arrangement of medallions surrounded by complex flowering decorations. White ovals, pointed on each end, rest amid black borders, forming each large medallion in an offset pattern on this antique rug. The space within these figures is almost entirely filled with golden orange flowers, their elements picked out with darker hues. Similar decorations crowd around the shapes, white and orange against a slightly shadier field, every petal and leaf illustrated with elegant detail. A set of borders surrounds the central field, matched in hue and intricacy. The widest, black border displays white and gold floral forms.
