Antique Persian Malayer Runner Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1920 -This Persian rug is rendered in warm orange hues and complemented by deep blue-black line-work, depicting a repeating pattern down the extreme length. A latticework of white, picked out by black stitches, accents small, perfect flowers with four petals each. The flowers are arranged in rows, which continue down the length in an exactly measured repetition. A white bar edges the central area, showcasing square and circular floral designs. The widest border is a sunny strip punctuated by large, many-petaled white flowers and tiny, abstract red blooms flanked by leaf-green strips. A narrow, warm orange and white band encloses the entire Malayer rug.
