Beautiful and Decorative Earthtone Antique Afghan Rug, Country of Origin: Afghanistan, Circa Date: First Quarter of The 20th Century – With an earthy central palette and plenty of angular figures within, this attractive antique Afghan rug is meant to convey a sense of clear grounding and solidity, which makes it a desirable addition to any environment. A dusted bronze hue defines the background of the antique rug, rich enough to lead the rest of the hues without drawing too much attention away from the crucial points of contrast. Two thick horizontal bars rest at the top and bottom of the rug, themselves offering the thinner border within a more powerful degree of framing. The borders feature dandelion yellow and coffee brown tones, broken up at irregular sections by a muted blue color that adds a metallic tinge to the elements within. At the center of this antique rug from Afghanistan, is a series of ten mandalas, arranged in five rows of two each, breaking up the space while adding simple contact with the rest of the background.
