Finely Woven Light Blue Antique Persian Kashan Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1900 – The light blue-gray central field of this antique Persian rug features a pattern of staggered medallions. Each lovely figure showcases a diminutive brown flower at its center, resting over a yellow shape with smaller blossoms flanking along twofold symmetry in this antique Kasah rug. Tiny bouquets extend from opposing sides of every medallion, and the space around them in the pattern is studded with singular blooms in light yellow and brown. A set of several warm-toned borders encloses the pattern, the inner and outer edges comprised of narrow bands with ornate floral decorations. Large, circular flowers ring the widest border, their stylized designs wrought with contrasting light and dark shades. Elaborate decorations fill the pale background of the bar, leaves and flowers as perfectly detailed as those within the main pattern of this beautiful antique rug.
