Beautiful Antique Tribal Persian Malayer Runner Rug, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Persian Rug, Circa Date: Late 19th Century – True to the style of Malayer runner rugs, this beautiful Persian Malayer rug uses angular lines and rigid, yet flowing elements to simultaneously ground the designs while emphasizing movement. Bright reds, elegant yellows and exquisite blues stand together against skillfully placed sections of Stygian black to create a warm and organic masterpiece. The thickest border surrounding the antique rug is further defined by the presence of the two thinner borders, each containing petals and fronds within their forms. At the core of the rug, the contrasting colors are at their most pronounced; several vibrant tangerine shapes stand out against the black background of this Persian rug. The more colorful figures contain beautiful floral patterns and petals, and the viewer’s eyes are led down by the presence of the rich colors, used in a collection of hexagons that are connected by a single strong line.
