Vintage Persian Qashqai Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 20th Century– Three hexagonal medallions align over the black background of this vintage Persian rug. The outer two hold geometrically wrought trees with black and white branches. In the center, a stylized camel with a white bird atop its hump is featured, stitched in straight lines over the orange shape. A menagerie of animals surrounds these figures, including monkeys, squirrels, antelopes and many birds. Another pair of camels rests above and below, within the pointed banner shape. Springing from the inner edge, four-petaled flowers add to the border, which leads to a field of colorful daisies on an orange background. Several borders trim this antique rug, filled with angular representations of tulips and other flowers.
