Antique Khotan Runner Rug, East Turkestan, 1900 — A beautiful combination of floral and geometric designs converge in this antique Khotan runner rug from Turkestan. Dating back to 1900, this piece is made in a lovely light yellow color with a perfect complement of blues and pinks. The outermost border is simple, with a solid background of yellow upon which blue flowers adorn the outside of the rug. Bands of varying widths contain different geometric designs moving inward toward the center of this piece. Swirling patterns in the same blues and yellows meet either side of the narrow center band, which features an intriguing design all its own. The pink blush of color in this rug gives it a delicate appeal.
