Intricate 18th Century Indian Embroidery Textile 49098, Country of Origin: India, Circa Date: 18th Century – Though presented through an asymmetrical medium, this historic 18th century Indian textile embroidery speaks volumes in terms of artistic skill and presentation. The earthy clay background used to define the majority of the background in this beautiful antique Indian piece, acts as a natural focusing ground for the subjects at the forefront. Here, the viewer is able to observe concrete figures used to depict a scene, rather than patterns meant to establish a visual sensation. Hunters, archers,  speakers and fishermen stand among natural flora and fauna, facing animal design to signify the hunt or facing away to depict their comfort, creating a thematic harmony that is often prevalent in nature.
