Yamout Rugs: Principally found to the northwest of Turkmenistan, the Yamout are renowned for their rugs. Typically the kepse, ogurjali, tauk and dyrnak gul are seen on Yamout rugs. The kepse, a flattened diamond with four high turrets on the side and combining blue, crimson, green, sienna, yellow and cream is often used on the design. The field colors in Yamout rugs are warm hues with reds, rich purples, and browns with details in vibrant blue and green. The use of a flattened octagon and stylized flowers is typical in Yamout designs.
