Vintage Kilim by Birgitt Sodergren, Sweden, Mid 20th Century—Much like most traditional Swedish rugs, this one features a very simple color scheme and pattern that allows the abstract themes within to shine through. A large, steely gray border surrounds a rectangular field of sage green as the largest arrangements of composition within the piece. Set in the gray border is a collection of squares, arranged in three primary colors: soft gray, earthy green and honey yellow. A distinct contrasting flow is established along each of these squares in the zig-zagging rows of white teeth that line each box’s left and right side.
