Beautiful and Quite Rare Vintage Flat Woven Swedish Kilim Runner Rug, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Scandinavian Rugs, Circa Date: Middle Part Of The 20th Century – Proving that a monochrome theme need not lack for vibrancy, this vintage Scandinavian rug displays a perfectly symmetrical, neatly stitched geometric pattern in shades of rich red through pale pink-white. Repeating over the exceptionally long vintage flat woven rug the design is segmented, alternating two modular units back and forth to break up the space and add a necessary degree of definition to the Swedish Kilim runner rug overall. Every other unit is a white-backed field with three evenly spaced diamonds, each shaped with stair-step regularity and concentric tones detailing squares of different shades. Between each module, a strip of red and white dots forms a distinctive border, flaring with light red on the sides. A single band of red encloses the runner rug, the solid hue speckled in wide stripes at both narrow ends to match the borders within the interior.
