A thick, vibrant border leads the viewer’s eyes inward, where the vast majority of the action takes place. Here, the trunk of a tree snakes up the center of the Persian rug, its branches elegantly splaying outward into a beautiful configuration of rich orange and red leaves. The dark spaces between each of the leaves act as a beautiful backdrop to the vivacious colors at the foreground of this antique rug, suggesting volume in the canopy.
