Beautiful Square Size Vintage Flat Woven Scandinavian Rug by Marta Maas, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Scandinavian Rugs, Circa Date: Mid 20th Century – Standing out as one of the less abstract Scandinavian rugs, this beauty focuses on simple lines arranged in a meaningful way in order to convey a message of motion. The most rigid lines are established around the border of the vintage rug. The top and bottom frames are thicker than the ones on the left and right, but they all follow the same pattern that features red, green and purple stripes set up at random, broken up by a single white line between each of them. These colors are presented at the core of the Marta Maas rug as well. Here, they are used with wavy lines, flowing against each other on clearly defined rows that seem to resemble aquatic waves. Some of the spaces between the wavy lines are colored a solid red, while others feature minuscule, vertical white and red stripes, adding further contrast between the foreground elements.
