Room Size Art Deco Chinese Carpet, Country of Origin: China, Circa date: 1920’s — Like many of the best and most beautiful vintage art deco Chinese carpets, this beautiful example effortlessly conveys an innocent and flowing picturesque scene. The outermost border is the largest and showcases a solid gold color that seems to almost spring to life in its realistic tone gradients. Within that border is a thin azure frame, and within that frame itself is a solid background of deep, navy blue. Soft, willowy branches seem to gracefully move inward, with each branch containing blossoms of coffee brown, blushing pink and gentle blue. Butterflies flutter along the background, and from the upper branch on the left side hangs a woven reed basket that houses a loosely arranged bouquet of flowers.
