Breathtaking and Rare Large Oversized Antique Indian Amritsar Rug, Country of Origin: India, Circa Date: Late 19th Century– Dominated by a pale saffron yellow, this antique Indian rug features a central field filled with complex but stylized floral shapes in a symmetrical pattern. Wrought with yellows, whites and accented with dark brown edging, the blossoms and leaves display dreamily ruffled edges. The space around each shape of this Amritsar is filled with flora in a burnished gold shade. The rug is edged with a few small bands full of repeating patterns with more blooms, and one larger border backed in a near white and lined by large, intricate flowers. These shapes showcase fractal designs along the edges of the petals, all crafted from rich yellows and browns.
