Large Size Light Blue Antique Persian Heriz Serapi Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: Late 19th Century – This spectacular antique Heriz Serapi rug features a central red medallion is anchored within a field of beautiful slate blue and connected by means of angular lines, which move away and create a symmetrical pattern. Stylized flowers on white stems fill the negative spaces within that pattern, filled with white, red and dark blue. Several larger red shapes like petals or the fronds of a fern peek over the edge of the light blue area. Two slim borders in contrasting white and navy, filled with interlocking flowery designs, lead to a wider red band. Flowers ring the central field of this antique Persian rug, each locked within its own ornate shape. Two additional narrow borders match and mirror the inner ones to complete this breathtaking antique rug which is sure to be one of the best Serapi Heriz rugs to have ever been woven!
