It features a complex series of borders, the largest of which is surrounded by two thinner borders that stand out as contrasting figures within this Persian rug. Leading inward, several half-circles line the interior edge of the borders, where they make contact with the heart of the antique rug. Here, a pale beige center stretches downward, set as a perfect contrast against the border’s forms.
