Beautiful Decorative Tree Of Life Design Antique Turkish Oushak Rug, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Antique Turkish Rug, Circa Date: 1900 – Symmetrical boughs in autumnal colors angle away from each other down the body of this antique Turkish rug. The series align through the center, describing a growing golden tree of life design with forked leaves. Myriad flowers stud the branches, some simply wrought with rounded petals, at times alternating in color like miniature pinwheels. Colorful pointed stars stand for larger, more complex blossoms, spaced through the design at organic intervals. On one end of the warmly hued antique Turkish Oushak rug, a checkerboard pattern depicts a low brick wall behind three banners inscribed with angular, floral decorations. A wheaten field or orchard stretches across the opposing end of the central field, giving the semblance of a layered landscape. This beautiful antique rug features several lacy borders, which are described in fiery orange tones and set against a pure amber field, contain ornate, circular blossoms linked with jagged leaves.
