This spectacular antique prayer rug from Shirvan features a sophisticated latticework pattern decorated with rustic protection symbols woven in a variety of subtly oxidized colors. Vibrant protection symbols, including geometric birds, stars and berekets separated by a serrated latticework grid, decorate the obscure Kohl black field of this antique Caucasian rug. Crenellated fence guardbands woven in contrasting shades of crimson red, blue and jadeite green frame both sides of the latch hook-decorated main borders, which feature an alternating pattern of clear greens, coral pink and cocoa brown.
