The colors are rich and saturated. The design is intricate that indicates a fine weave and quality craftsmanship. Isfahan an important weaving center and at the heart of the Persian arts during the time of Shah Abbas in the 16th century. Isfahan has a continual history of producing some of the most sophisticated carpets in terms of aesthetics and patterns that require an exceptional level of skill. Except for a short time of civil strife, their place at the top of the carpet weaving art has remained consistent.

One thing that stands out about antique carpets from Isfahan is that they were heavily influenced by the other arts such as calligraphy and mosaic work.
