Decorative Room Size Antique Persian Serapi Heriz Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: First Quarter of the 20th Century – This antique Persian rug is a creamy white base decorated with stark black, accented by pale blue and brown counterpoints. This decorative Heriz rug features a lovely eight-petaled flower forms a large medallion in the center, shaded in part by dark stitches that draw the eye. This blue-black shade is contrasted by ornately detailed petals, and a smaller white blossom rests in the exact middle, matching the larger medallion in form. Curling blooms and leaves spring from the top and bottom, concentrating in each corner. A set of three borders edges the piece, with two small white bands flanking a larger black width. White flowers, surrounded by fronds and diminutive seed-like dots add a sophisticated and modernist feel to this antique rug.
