Persian Antique Antique Khorassan Rug, Country Of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1900 – The Tree of Life rug design is artfully displayed in a mute beige, on which richly colored motifs spring to life. In symbolizing the direct path from earth to heaven, the branches feature a variety of floral images and medallions. Taken together, the motifs are thought to represent youth, purity, spirituality, and rebirth. The repeat occurs in a varied pattern of two main images, interspersed into a row of three. Arabic lettering that bears the weavers signature appears below a flowing script at the top center.
