Extremely Decorative and Luxurious Antique Turkish Oushak Rug, Country of Origin: Turkey, Circa Date: 1910 – True to the classic antique Turkish Oushak rugs, this beautiful Turkish rug allows the patterns and shapes to define the primary style. The rug is simple in its composition, containing thick borders and large shapes that occupy ample space within the piece itself. Through the use of a strongly unified color palette, the artist creates an almost living glow within the rug. The vibrant orange, deep vermilion and gentler cream tones all come together to establish a fiery work of art. Large, bright flowers line the interior of the borders as they wrap around the large field at the core of the rug. Within this field are five primary shapes, symmetrical in arrangement and containing strong shapes and patterns to complete the grounding presence in the antique rug.
