Magnificent Antique 17th Century Persian Kerman Carpet, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 17th Century – This gorgeous 17th century Persian Kerman carpet exemplifies all of the classical traits of traditional Kerman design. Through the use of angular movements and elegant patterns, a rigid sense of flow is established within the antique rug. Numerous contrasting colors are thrown together in a seemingly chaotic way, but upon closer inspection, their muted tones create a unique degree of misty unity. A single border surrounds the center of the antique Persian rug, its interior housing a number of winding vines and elegantly resting petals, their lighter hues standing out against the cool, dark background. At the carpet’s core is gentle ruby field, and within is a series of stems and vines, creating a floral network that leads the eye to the larger blossoms and perennial motifs.
