Breathtaking Small Size Vintage Silk Turkish Hereke Rug, Country of Origin / Rugs Type: Turkish Rugs, Circa Date:  Vintage / Mid 20th Century – This breathtaking vintage silk Turkish rug combines an eye catching color scheme and traditional Persian influenced designs to create an extremely fine rug that is reminiscent of designs on much older antique carpets. This breathtaking vintage rug was produced in the mid 20th century in Hereke. The combination of traditional Persian and Oriental rug style motifs makes it the perfect addition to a retro or Oriental-themed room.

This fascinating design uses a style that is more in alignment with traditional Persian rug designs, rather than the angular, larger-scale Turkish designs. It has familiar Persian symbols including the boteh, or eternal flame, a cypress tree, vase motifs, and a central medallion. However, the treatment of these motifs is in a non-traditional manner. This jaw dropping and rare Turkish Hereke rug also has a phoenix that has a distinctively oriental feel.

It is a beautiful and extremely fine silk rug that pays homage to the traditional carpet designs of Persia but does so in a new and modern way. This carpet inspires the imagination and would add interest to a traditional room, Asian-inspired theme, Bohemian or eclectic space. It can be used to add color and interest to any interior scheme. It would also work well in a loft or open studio to define a space within it. It is a captivating and versatile piece for any number of design ideas.

Rugs of this quality and knot count are very few and far between. They are usually small size rugs because of the time and effort that goes into creating them. That is why they are also quite rare and collectible rugs since weaving them will end up being quite and expensive rug. But price aside, they are great works of art that should be valued and cherished for generations to come.
