Vintage Swedish Rug by Brita Grahn, Origin: Sweden, Circa: Mid-20th Century –  Shades of brown color the geometric figures that populate the field. Full of right angles and and sudden changes in tone, these geometric shapes fit together like pieces in a puzzle, giving the carpet an overall impression of unity. The primary pattern on the outer vertical portions of the carpet is a simple striping of browns and yellow, while the pattern more toward the center of the piece is more complex. Here, all of the colors that appear throughout the carpet come together, forming a scintillating pattern that is both straightforward and dynamic. The carpet is signed by the designer, Brita Grahn, near the bottom.
