Vintage Moroccan Rug, Morocco, Mid 20th Century — This vintage tribal Moroccan rug is handwoven by Berber women in the Atlas Mountains. The creamy natural white background of undyed wool is a typical design preference but each rug is one-of-a-kind. This rug has a delicate espresso brown design running across the rug in a large diamond pattern. Each diamond is woven with two lines of color, creating depth to the designs. An even more delicate pattern of arrowed lines runs vertically thru the centers of the three rows of diamonds. The long edges are also framed in the espresso brown, and the short edges feature a broken pattern of espresso rectangles in a two lines of edging. This rug combines earthy tones and tribal design with a modern simplicity.
