Breathtaking Vintage Biblical Judiaca Silk Persian Kashan Rug, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Vintage Persian Rug, Circa Date: Mid – 20th Century – This stunning vintage silk Persian rug depicts the ancient Hebrew Biblical figure of Moses proudly holding the stone that bears the Ten Commandments. This Persian Kashan rug showcases the pastel colors of orange, blue and tan are combined with richer hues of crimson and coral for a lustrously glowing display. Set against a sky blue background, the slender border of this vintage Persian carpet is decorated with a continuous vine of flowers and leaves, which are saturated with bright and vivid hues of red, coral and earth tones.

A royal crown with Hebrew writing that reads “Torah Crown” is etched into the white box right below. This Judaic symbol is perhaps placed over the tablets as a way of symbolizing the divine precedence of God and how god is always over and above us mortals.

This magnificently breathtaking silk Persian Kashan rug features Moses’ robe in a faint sky blue, which matches the striped sky. A bright reddish colored cloak is draped across his shoulders, flowing gracefully all the way to his pale bare feet.

Moses’ face is marked by an intensely pensive expression, created primarily by his brilliant blue eyes, which match the hue of his robe and the deeper tones in the sky. His grand figure stands tall and dignified as he holds a long brown staff in one hand and the sacred tablets in the other.

Mount Sinai, the place on which he stands in his poised and regal posture, is clearly defined by a vivid rusty orange backdrop. A lighter coral hue is used to depict the celestial sunburst halo beams of light that emanate from Moses’ head.
