The rug was created during a time when the Persian rug industry was undergoing a revival after a period of decline. It was during this time that several master weavers came together in an attempt to recreate the Golden Age of Persian rug weaving. They were inspired by the masterpieces created by the Court master weavers of the Safavid Dynasty.
