NYC Halloween Events – With tonight marking the beginning of Halloween weekend, we thought we’d put together a little list of our top picks of things to do in NYC for Halloween. Whether you’re into ghosts and goblins or just having a grand ol’ boozefest, the Nazmiyal Design blog has a little somethin’ somethin’ for everyone. Go all out this weekend with your decor, costume, and event planning.

Here are our top picks for Halloween outings:

Nightmare: Fairy Tales

One of NYC’s legendary haunted house events is Nightmare! This year, creator and co-director, Timothy Haskell, is taking viewers on a majestic trip through the land of fairy tales. Fairy tales, which are better known today for their light-hearted and kid-friendly stories were originally dark, gruesome, and super scary tales to keep the kiddies from misbehaving. This year’s Nightmare is all about reliving childhood memories of the stories we all grew up listening to in a way they were never told to our once youthful selves. Haunting enchanted forests, interactive and stylistic design, and true horror await you for this landmark Halloween event. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. VIP packages are available and highly recommended.

Sleep No More

British performance group and theatre company specializing in creating experiential and interactive adaptations of classic theatre pieces has brought their latest piece, Sleep No More, to NYC. Based on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Punch Drunk has converted an old warehouse space into the McKittrick Hotel with each room being adorned with scenes from Shakespeare’s classic play in a Film Noir influence. Guests are invited to traverse the makeshift hotel and create their own journey through performers, dancers, and creepy baby graveyards. The show has been getting rave reviews and has been extended through December 31st. Tickets are $85.

Halloween at The Gallery at The Dream Hotel

Boozehounds, listen up. If you’re looking to steer clear of the haunted houses and creepy adventures and just want to party, check out the The Dream Hotel’s Halloween party. The Dream Hotel in Chelsea is one swanky space with its modern futuristic design, electro-lit self, enough marble to make the Parthenon jealous, and a rooftop with a city-wide view to absolutely die for. This Halloween, go big or go home by having a night out fully glad in couture costumes whilst mingling betwixt the social elite.
