Widely celebrated throughout Eastern Europe, Piksiades is certainly one of the most consequential Slovak artists of the twentieth century, renowned for here tremendously imaginative work and her impressive range. A multimedia artist, Piksiades has worked in glass and painting, exhibiting her work throughout Europe during the 1960’s and 70’s. It was in 1970 that Piksiades began designing rugs and tapestries, being drawn to the craft at this time due to important technological changes that made weaving certain styles a more manageable affair.
