Antique Persian Bakshaish Rug, Country Of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1900 – Here is a truly magnificent antique Oriental rug — a beautiful antique Bakshaish rug that was originally hand woven and hand dyed by the master rug makers of Persia some time around the turn of the twentieth century. This phenomenal, breath-taking composition is a glorious achievement, the enduring beauty of which is a testament to the skills of the rug makers responsible for its original composition over one hundred years ago. Rosettes linked by angular vines form abstract patterns across the segmented field. Dramatic pendants set over a strong blue background flank the central medallion within a series of inset lozenges. Elongated turtle and vine-scroll borders frame this classic Bakhshayesh completed circa 1900. All in all, this is a fantastic rug that is beautiful and impressive, offering potential buyers an opportunity to bring a genuine work of art into their home.
