Square Size Antique Agra Rug, Country of Origin: India, Circa Date: 1900 — In elaborate and ornate detail, this antique rug displays a repeating motif of intricate interlocking floral pear and geometric designs in ivory with black highlights against a variably shaded brown field. In some places the field’s color resembles indigo. A broad brown border depicts flowers and leaves; it also employs predominantly ivory and cream colors with some black highlights. Two thin ivory colored guard strips decorated with indigo, black and brown blossoms enclose the border.
