Vintage Chinese Deco Rug 46916
The minimalism and balance of this design beautifully unifies traditional Chinese concepts of beauty with the novelty of Art Deco.
Vintage Chinese Deco Rug, Origin: China, Circa: 1930 – Here is an appealing and distinctive antique Oriental rug – an Art Deco Chinese rug. This Art Deco Chinese rug was woven in China during the art-deco period which was during the first half of the twentieth century. Beautifully and effectively communicating some of the finer points of the Art Deco movement, this carpet is broken up into three portions by the way of a simple and straightforward design, in which the surface of the carpet seems to be being folded into itself, revealing a lower layer. The fold itself creates one of the portions, and seems to represent the underside of the carpet. The colors, ivory, green, and rusty red complement one another, with each color enhancing the other. There is little other decoration to be found in the carpet, a quality that makes it consistent with more traditional antique Chinese carpets. The minimalism and balance of this design beautifully unifies traditional Chinese concepts of beauty with the novelty of western influenced Art Deco motifs.
