The dramatic coffered field with its mihrab-like niches houses an endless network of linear vases that are filled with delicately colored highlights and branching bouquets. Narrow cushions of negative space surround each delicate motif and produce an exceptional trellis that passes through each figure and across the splendid camel-tone field. Checkerboard tiles and compound lozenge motifs the edges of the define coffered field and segue to the elaborate symbol-filled borders, which feature a collection of softly colored stars that take on an angular asterisk-like shape.
