Artistic Antique American Hooked Area Rug, Country of Origin: United States, Circa Date: 1920’s – Much like other classic American hooked rugs, this one uses a simple series of blocks and lines to convey a grounding and nostalgic feeling of comfort. Within the rich black border that surrounds the carpet is another significantly larger border that is made up of alternating triangles. Every vibrant instance of blushing pink, roaring red and vivacious yellow is elegantly offset by a smokey instance of grey. Inside of this abstract space, however, is another border, almost like a picture frame. Between the woody patterns is a black background that sets the perfect field for an attract arrangement of two roses amidst olive leaves.
