Splendid golden-yellow and white outlines define the edges of the grand palmettes, rectilinear brackets and enigmatic tribal devices. Crenelated fence borders outlined with golden-yellow details create a symbolic enclosure that highlights the simplistic floral motifs featured within the ornate borders. The broadly spaced palmettes, rectilinear grid and decorative spandrels highlight the deeply saturated and subtly abrashed crimson field. Created by Kurdish weavers circa 1900, this quirky Bidjar carpet features a beautiful melding of tribal patterns and traditional Persian motifs that create an elegant, well-defined facade.
