Antique India Rug, Country of Origin: India -The parchment yellow tones of this antique Indian rug are accented with dark slate blue and spruce green, their colors mingling and touched with hints of white and pale brown. The dominant feature of the pattern filling the central area is a set of staggered forms depicted in dark green, reminiscent of fern fronds or coniferous trees. Perfect sprays of white blossoms are interspersed between these, their stems tremulously thin. Small blue and green leaves spring from the spaces between the other elements, filling the body of the antique rug without crowding it. A set of three borders, filled with white flowers and green vines, encloses the pattern on this Shahsavan, completed by an interlocking jagged outer trim.
