A Remarkable Antique Soft Color Khotan Area Rug , Country of Origin / Rug Type: East Turkestan Rugs, Circa Date: Early 19th Century – This magnificent antique Khotan carpet from East Turkestan with a a warm neutral background was produced in the late 19th century. The magnificent antique Khotan rugs are from a city that was once an important trading center that is situated along the old iconic silk road. Area rugs from this area were influenced by Persian rugs as well as Turkish rug designs in addition to. This allowed the weavers to create unique designs by incorporating their own interpretations of these artistic deign elements and unique color combinations.
