Antique Persian Khorasan Rug, circa 1900 – A complex array of interlacing vines unfolds in radial symmetry across the champagne field of this supremely elegant antique Khorassan. The vines are so thinly proportioned however, that they recede into the background, yielding pride of place to the exquisitely drawn palmettes in shades of soft blue and aubergine. A delicate cartouche main border flanked by minor borders with fine vine scrolls provides the perfect counterpoint for the sweeping grandeur of the field.
