Shoes – I have spent many an hour scouring this planet for shoes inspired by carpets, and I have owned and loved more than a few Kilim flats.
And I have coveted others:
Much to my delight, designers often integrate carpet motifs or actual fragments into housewares and sometimes even shoes. Due to the nature of the kilim rug, which is light, fun and flat-woven, they can be easily appropriated and transformed into a variety of goods, like chairs.

Even home décor giant Pottery Barn has developed a line of vintage Kilim pillows and poufs.
But what about pile carpet? This fall season is hot on the Persian rug & carpet. Anton Repponen has a handful of wild looking men’s shoes, deemed his “Persian Collection.”
But it is Maison Martin Margiela who has designed their entire line around the carpet.
