This gorgeous and exciting piece possesses many of the qualities most sought after by collectors of such rugs, and would make a proud addition to any home. Drawing on ancient Anatolian carpet and kilim designs, this rug features an interesting variation of the Oushak star medallion in a variety of regional colors, including oranges, golden-yellows, and sage-green set on intense red field that displays a pleasing abrash. In addition to symbolic stepped hooks, the carpet borders are filled with colorful burdock motifs designed to catch evil spirits. All in all, this is a piece that is not to be missed. Its traditional design and lovely composition make it not only a highly desirable piece, but a genuine work of art.
