Antique Persian Dabir Kashan Rug 50022
Antique Dabir Kashan Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1920 — The field of this beautiful antique rug contains textures of black and dark blue. This antique Kashan Dabir rug displays several highly detailed, ornate medallions. Four lighter blue ones surround a centrally located red one. Half-medallions in red colors appear in both the central vertical and horizontal directions. A rich motif of vivid geometric patterns and cascading ruyi symbols populates the field in a powerful, abundant manner; many of the shapes resemble flower petals. The floral theme also appears within the medallions themselves; all reflect careful attention to fine detail. The border repeats the same color patterns as the field, presenting scrolling red, blue and cream blossoms and leaves. Three very narrow guard borders on each side of the border depict flowers and buds in a scrolling pattern. Kashan is a community in Central Iran known for maintaining a tradition of highly skilled weaving.
