This impressive antique Khotan rug features exceptionally clear colors in all ends of the spectrum, designs highlighted with contrasting outlines and hairline details that exemplify the care and precision needed to create a long-lasting, functional work of art. Woven with a lozenge medallion, this carpet features an impressive allover boteh pattern that creates an alluring mosaic with precisely arranged colors offset by a deep blue field. Terra cotta spandrels decorated with minute quatrefoils, which have an uncanny similarity to the floral rugs of Josheghan, surround the lozenge medallion.
