Vintage Scandinavian Swedish rug, Sweden, Mid 20th Century — Elegant, angular simplicity defines this Scandinavian carpet. A single shade of rich, creamy taupe is set as the background, broken up by a beautiful framework of pale, sage green lines. These lines connect at the borders to create boxy lines of movement, with alternating rectangular shapes creating the grounding frame for the rest of the piece. From the borders, regular intervals of boxes are arranged throughout the center of the carpet. At the bottom of each box where the sage lines connect at their thickest are two beautiful marigolds, sewn in a rich gold tone.
