Vintage Modernist Tapestry by Artist Leonardo Nierman, Origin: French Rugs, Circa: Mid-Twentieth Century – Here is a beautiful and exciting vintage carpet – a vintage modernist tapestry that was woven in France during the middle years of the twentieth century with a design by celebrated artist Leonardo Nierman. Decidedly modernist in overall aesthetic, this comely vintage tapestry showcases the artistic possibilities inherent in postmodern design. The designer, Nierman, is a Mexican artist who is renowned for his paintings as well as his sculptures. Working in a highly abstract and postmodern vein, Nierman has been called the “Jackson Pollock of Latin American art.” A prestigious moniker, it is nevertheless one the artists has earned: his bold experimentation with color  are very much on display in this exciting tapestry. Splashed onto a field of white, the vibrant shades of yellow, blue and red that dominate the composition seem to reach into the furthest corners of the piece, carrying their energy with them. Highly imaginative and very beautiful, this modernist tapestry by Leonardo Nierman is an exciting example.
